Print Inspiration

I'll admit it, I am totally obsessed with prints. Everywhere I go I see things that would look amazing on a printed skirt or dress. I think it must be the textile designer within fighting to get out. Liberty has become my new favourite place to explore on a weekend, I love to look at their fabric prints and if I'm not in store or outside finding new inspiration I am trawling Instagram and Pinterest for new and bold prints. Here are some beauty's...

Probably from the early 70's. This fabric is very like some curtains I had when I got married in 1972
Pre-Fall’s moody toss of hand-painted flowers is strewn across caftans, dresses, bikinis… and now, it’s available in an exclusive wallpaper, too.

His use of blue pigment often endows his paintings with images that resemble the natural world, such as clouds in the night sky or the rippling surfaces of water.

DVF we love you

What better way to start my Wednesday off then by posting about Diane Von Furstenberg.

This is a woman that is such an inspiration to me, she has amazing style and has had a tremendous career in fashion. To work for such an icon would really be a dream come true. She seems to be so wise and spiritual and I love to keep up to date on her instagram account with her strong words of wisdom that always come at the right time and make so much sense!

As well as being a great and independent woman she designs the most amazing clothes and is the one that introduced us to the amazing wrap dress, now every woman can carry one of these off, no matter of age or size.

So today, I am dedicating this post to how great DVF is and to say we all love you.

As Diane always would always say- Love Jacqueline x

Jenna Lyons- J Crew

So everyone knows by now that J Crew is opening a store in London (woohoo) but Jenna Lyons style and career has become something of an interest to me. Jenna Lyons worked at J.Crew for more than 22 years and began at J.Crew as an assistant in menswear without there even being a vacancy there. She has worked her way through the ranks to become creative director. Not only has she got the dream job of many an aspiring fashionistas she has one amazing wardrobe! I have been spying her style for ages but now it's time to blog about some of my favourite outfits of hers. With her super long legs and trademark thick black glasses you can't do anything but agree that she has some serious style!!

Japan you are so stylish

I've become a little obsessed with Japanese style of late and thought I would dedicate a post to it. I have always loved their art and style, but since using Japanese influences in a recent project I have been able to appreciate it a bit more. I like the way the girls dress, from a Geisha girl to the Tokyo city girls. They are bold and daring and always look great! I can't wait to get to Tokyo next year and experience it first hand, who knows I might even go bold and daring myself!

Coat obsession

My last post was on Penelope Cruz gorgeous orange coat but now I have seen another one on Victoria Beckham, olive green with black detailing on the collar. Let be fair Mrs B can't ever put a fashion foot wrong but now it's inspired me to source out some of my fave coats around at the minute. With the rubbish weather we're having too it looks like coats will be staying on our backs for a little while longer!

Who gets a golden globe for being best dressed

Last night was the golden globes and I must say I wasn't blown away by a lot of the dresses worn. My top best dressed were Nicole Ritchie in her boho floor length gown, Juliane Moore in her monochrome dress an Emily Blunt in her gold cut out dress. Other stars that looked fab were Jennifer Garner, Kate Hudson, Glenn Close and Helen Mirren.
